Dr. Darrin Wiederhold, DMD, MS
I was born in Pottsville at the (formerly) Good Sam Hospital. I grew up living abroad due to my father’s job with the federal government but Pottsville always remained our home and where we would return to for vacations. I have lived in or visited every continent except Antarctica. I graduated from the Jakarta International School in Jakarta, Indonesia. I then did my undergraduate education at The Pennsylvania State University and was accepted for early admission to the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia after only 3 years of college. I graduated from Temple with high honors and then continued my professional education with 2 years of General Practice Residency and a one-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship program. I have been practicing for 23 years, including my own practices in PA, KY and CA, as well as a few years with the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. I have also been closely involved with dental school teaching through much of my career, having been a residency Director and dental school instructor. I am licensed in multiple states and enjoy all aspects of dentistry. With my hospital based dental experience, I am very comfortable with managing various dental and medical emergencies, from pain to infections and broken teeth. In addition, I have placed and restored countless dental implant cases, from single tooth replacements to “All-on-4” cases. I have also lectured nationally on implant dentistry and have been published in many nationally recognized publications on implant surgery and restoration. I have always loved the Pottsville/Schuylkill County area, and as soon as I could, I made my way home! I am truly excited to be back home and looking forward to the honor of caring for your family!
